The Darebin Arts Center is looking for a dynamic, friendly and focused individual to be part of the venue’s Technical Room Services team. This person will support and assist the centre’s diverse artistic program by providing technical support to our valuable presenters, artists and patrons; for example, assisting with set-ups and set-ups, assisting in equipment maintenance, and performing tasks in lighting, audio, staging and audiovisual disciplines. Candidates will be called upon to work evenings and weekends, as appropriate.
Hours: 76 hours over a four week period.

  • Permanent part-time role (76 hours per four-week period)

  • Prorated $ 62 187.32 per year

About the role

This On-Site Service Technician role is part of the Operations and Technical team which is responsible for all operational, technical and facade support for Arts Quarter activities, including shows and events.

Functions

Customer service

  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers

  • Liaise effectively and proactively with clients to determine and deliver technical requirements

  • Help clients achieve optimal satisfaction levels for their event performance

  • Contribute to the smooth running of events at the DAC

Operations

  • Gather technical requirements for clients and productions for event reconciliations, as needed or directed

  • Perform tasks in the areas of lighting, staging, audio and audiovisual as required

  • Assist with replacements and replacements by ensuring that tasks are completed quickly, efficiently and with due care

  • Actively promote best practices in the area of ​​OSH responsibilities

  • Maintain building safety, cleanliness and security during productions

Administration

Skills and experience

  • Understanding of the technical operations of an artistic and / or cultural center and the technical provision of shows and events

  • Working knowledge of stage lighting rigging, operation and maintenance

  • Working knowledge of audio equipment setup, operation and maintenance

  • Working knowledge or understanding of rigging and stage set setup

  • Working knowledge of understanding audiovisual equipment for theatrical purposes, conferences and seminars

  • Strong communication, problem solving and problem solving skills
