NETGEAR Further Expands WiFi 6 Leadership with High-End Tri-Band Wireless Access Point

SAN JOSE, Calif .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) –NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTGR), the leading provider of networking products that power businesses large and small, today announced the availability of the fourth member of its Insight Managed WiFi 6 access points, the Insight ™ Managed WiFi 6 AX6000 Tri-band Multi-gig Access Point (WAX630), designed to provide the ultimate WiFi performance for small and medium businesses.

This new tri-band access point provides small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with next-generation premium WiFi 6 performance (802.11ax), delivering up to 40% more1 speeds to each connected device compared to WiFi 5 (802.11ac). The WAX630 interacts with other NETGEAR Insight Managed Access Points, including existing WiFi 5 (WAC510, WAC540) and WiFi 6 (WAX610, WAX610Y, WAX620) models. Additionally, WAX630 allows access points to be connected to each other using Instant Mesh2 – NETGEAR wireless backhaul technology. The WAX 630 is equipped with two Ethernet ports – a Gigabit Ethernet port and a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Power-over-Ethernet (PoE ++) port.

The WAX630 is ideally suited for environments with open spaces where it is necessary to provide WiFi connectivity to a large number of simultaneous users. Schools, community colleges, midsize manufacturing facilities, warehouses and mid-sized business offices will each find value in the capabilities of this new tri-band WiFi 6 multi-gig access point managed by Insight. This powerful access point interacts with existing NETGEAR WiFi 5 and WiFi 6 access points, protecting a customer’s investment in NETGEAR technology while allowing them to optimize the performance of their WiFi network.

The WAX630 also supports 12 streams (4×4 on each band) with each unit capable of delivering up to 6.0 Gbps of aggregate data rate with all three bands supporting WiFi 6. Specially designed for deployments at high density, the industry’s unique tri-band solution allows either a dedicated band for the wireless link with two front bands for client devices, or a 2.5 GbE wired link with three front bands for connecting client devices, making the WAX630 one of the most versatile and efficient access points in the industry.

NETGEAR Insight enables management of the WAX630 and other devices from the Insight app or a connected browser. With Insight, resellers and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) can configure, monitor, and maintain a customer’s network remotely without the need for a technician to be on-site.

Whether it’s better overall throughput or faster speeds for individually connected devices, SMBs always demand more from their WiFi network. The WAX630 delivers industry-leading network performance based on its unique 12-stream Wi-Fi 6 tri-band architecture. Together with the WAX610 and WAX620, a common Insight management platform, the new WAX630 offers SMB customers an unprecedented range of price-performance options, each with the same set of features, security, and quality. said Doug Cheung, SMB Wireless Product Line Manager at NETGEAR.

The WAX630 offers robust enterprise-grade WiFi network security with 128-bit to 192-bit WPA3 encryption and the ability to configure VLANs and up to sixteen different SSIDs. With the WAX630’s tri-band WiFi 6 technology, businesses can now be confident that they are investing in the ultimate WiFi solution.
